Atelier Uraiqat is a design firm specialized in architectural and interior design. It was founded in 2009 by Basel Uraiqat and Basma Abdallah and based in Amman. It aims at creating a contemporary architecture that reflects local identity of a changing and rapidly developing city of Amman and at the same time achieves an international standard of design quality and innovation.
Atelier Uraiqat’s methodology is based on an approach that combines theoretical research, environmental considerations, and practical solutions through the use of modern design technology including digital simulations and building information modelling (BIM). It aims at creating an architecture that combines client needs with environmental and physical constraints through a contemporary vision that reflects local contexts and opportunities.
In its approach, Atelier Uraiqat makes use of the interests and knowledge bases of its architects to combine architecture, art, philosophy, and critical theory in order to create an architecture that will go beyond achieving its immediate requirements to providing a built environment that grows and breathes with its users.
